SOCIAL PROGRAMME

Social events are arranged for all participants and include dinner as well as a variety of entertainment and/or activities.

Tuesday May 4th:

Welcome reception at the City Hall - 19.00 - 20.30
All delegates and accompanying persons are invited to the official reception given by the Mayor of Aarhus. It takes place at the City Hall. The Mayor is the host and a glass of wine and snack will be served.

Wednesday May 5th:

Official Opening - 17.30 - 18.30
Don't miss the opening ceremony. An unforgettable show has been arranged. You will be surprised.

ACTA Champagne and Salmon Reception - 18.30 - 19.15
After the opening ACTA celebrates its 80 years anniversary and invites everybody to a reception in the Concert Hall. Champagne and salmon will be served.

Thursday May 6th:

Poster Reception - Wine and cheese reception - 16.30 - 18.00
Many posters will be presented at the congress. We invite you to participate in the poster reception. We encourage you to discuss the scientific work with the poster presenters and to enjoy some cheese and wine.

Gala dinner - 20.00 - 23.30
The dinner will be held at the Concert Hall. During dinner entertainment has been arranged. Booze Brothers will do their utmost to get you on the dance floor after the dinner.
Participation requires an additional fee to be paid - DKK 500 per person.

Lübker Square has been designed to create the optimal conditions for relaxation and pleasure for the whole family.

In the lower floor you will find a game section with funny games - here you can also meet new friends. On the ground floor you have the subtropical swimming area while the upper floors are reserved for relaxation for your body and soul.

We have arranged this pleasant day trip for you to the famous Lübker Golf Resort.

9.15 am
Pick up from the conference hotels. The bus trip to the Resort will take you through some beautiful parts of the peninsula of Djursland where the Resort spa-guide will meet you by arrival.

During the day in Lübker Square you will be pampered with e.g.: beautiful ecological products from “Fisher Pure”, a self treatment for your feet at the special “Fontaine”, steam bath with a smell of eucalyptus, a refreshing salt scrub, a trip to the sauna and if you feel for it a dip in the cold water - which should be very healthy for your body.

During the visit you shall enjoy freshly squeezed orange juice and a glass of Cava and finally you are most welcome to enjoy the outdoor tubs on top of the building which gives you a good view of the golf area.

Time for lunch
You can choose between these 2 delicious sandwiches: the world known Club sandwich (brown bread, chicken, curry, lettuce and bacon) or if you prefer fish a sandwich with brown bread, prawns, lettuce, egg and homemade mayo.

2.15 pm
Relaxed and with soft skin we shall now return to Aarhus. Arrival app. at 3 pm.

Price per person: DKK 890.00 exclusive of drinks for the lunch.

Remember your swimming gear if you want to have a short dip in the subtropical swimming pool.


City tour - Arhus & surroundings by bus - half day

Mindeparken (a large parc area), the Cathedral (Aarhus Domkirke) and Moesgaard Museum

Pick up at and the SAS Radisson by bus. On our way out of the city the guide will tell about the different sights the bus is passing. With its' app. 250.000 inhabitants Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark and has app. 18.000 students at the university.

On the way to our first stop which is “Moesgaard Museum” the bus will drive through the large parc towards the beautiful Marselisborg forests.

A guide from Visit Aarhus will accompany you for the whole day.

10.45 am
Our first stop is at “Moesgaard Museum”. “Moesgaard” is an old manor house situated in the forest south of Aarhus and it is the home of a museum with archaeological and ethnographic collections. The museum shows exhibits from the Stone Age to the Viking Age.

One of the main attractions is the “Grauballe Man” (Grauballemanden). A corpse found in a peat bog in the fifties. The corpse is app. 2,000 years old and very well preserved.

11.50 am
Back in the bus we shall continue to the “Navigator” restaurant at Marselisborg Harbor overlooking the busy yacht harbor. The lunch consists of a delicious lunch plate inclusive of 1 beer, 1 soft drink or 1 glass of wine.

13.15 pm
After lunch we are heading back to Aarhus were we shall pay a visit to the Cathedral. Our guide will inform briefly about the church's history.

The construction of the Cathedral began around year 1300 in the Romanesque style and finished during the 15th Century in the Gothic style.

The Cathedral is the longest church in Denmark with its 93 meter and is used for many different purposes i.e. concerts.

After the visit in the beautiful Cathedral the bus will take you back to the hotel.
